Recently, there has been a good deal of hype over
green coffee bean extract as an aid to weight loss. Featured on
the Dr. Oz show and the
Doctors, complete with overwhelming research,
double-blind studies
and some pretty impressive results in very overweight/obese persons of
both sexes when combined with diet and exercise, my interest was
immediately piqued. Green coffee bean extract comes from unroasted
coffee beans and the active ingredient is
chlorogenic acid.

It is extremely important that you buy only green coffee bean extract
that contains 50% GCA or Svetol. Beware of products containing extra
ingredients, binders, fillers,
artificial colors or preservatives. Purchase only 100% pure contents in a vegetarian capsule.

Green coffee bean extract inhibits the release of glucose in the body while increasing
liver metabolism
or fat burning in the liver. These two actions effectively tell the
body to stop storing and start burning fat for energy. Most people do
not realize that
salad greens,
cruciferous vegetables and even vegetables that are rather bitter to
the taste like dandelion, kale and chard contain glucose! So avoiding
ALL carbohydrate is virtually impossible and even undesirable. But do
remember that excess glucose consumption inevitably lead to belly fat
and excess fatty deposits around the hips, thighs and butt in the form
of cellulite.
So, we try to stop our bodies from converting glucose to fat or we
try to burn and pump out fat that already exists in the body. Green
coffee bean extract does both. However, as with garcinia cambogia, do
not expect to lose 100 pounds overnight.
It is reasonable to expect an added 10 lbs weight loss in 4 weeks. Do
however watch for false claims in advertising and be sure that whatever
green coffee bean extract you use is prepared in an
FDA registered lab, that the facility is GMP certified and that it complies with
USP standards. The usual dose is one 400 mg capsules 1/2 hour before meals with a large glass of water.
What would Dr. Atkins think of these recent weight loss aids? Would
he approve or disapprove? Well, let us take a look at this question…see
my next post…..
